“I encourage Team Refineries to surge ahead and achieve every critical milestone on the path of timely projects execution”, remarks Director (Refineries) at the Projects Conclave

Ms Sukla Mistry, Director (Refineries), recently inaugurated the Projects Conclave, a knowledge-sharing and interaction session at Refineries Headquarters (RHQ). The significant platform was also shared by Mr D S Sehgal, ED (PJ), Mr Kailash Pati, ED (PJ), Mr Joydeep Choudhury, ED (PJ), Mr Rohit Dawar, ED (PJ), Mr Abhijit Chakraborty, ED (PJ) and Mr Biplob Biswas, ED (PS-PJ). The Executive Directors & Refinery Heads, and other senior officials of the Projects Department from RHQ and various project sites also participated in the inaugural session virtually. Importantly, the Projects Conclave was attended by superannuated senior project executives namely Mr Suresh Chopra, Mr S N Jha, Mr S K Ambastha and Mr T S Mann. In her inaugural address, Ms Mistry elaborated on projects investments worth over Rs 1.06 Lakh Crore in IndianOil Refineries. In this backdrop, Ms Mistry said, “Considering the huge investment, I urge you all that the projects must be completed within the scheduled time to avail the intended benefits. However, as is common with big expansion & petrochemical projects of high value, various challenges present themselves along the way.” Detailing her thoughts on the subject, she remarked, “Project management is like juggling, where coloured balls are replaced with time, cost and quality, and sometimes, we may fail, but learning and re-learning is the only way to improve ourselves.” Ms Mistry appreciated the Projects team for associating with former IOCians, who served as diligent projects’ experts and learning from their practical experiences.
